SHIRT SIZE
What size shirt is right for you?
At this time, we have 2 styles of shirts… normal fit and tapered fit.
The normal fit shirt is the standard fit that should fit most people.
We think you’ll be pleasantly surprised how well Custom Pilot Shirts
fit. You won’t be disappointed with short arm lengths or short tails.
We have designed our shirts to have a modern looking short sleeve (a
little longer than most) and all of our shirts have long tails for a
positive tuck. The tapered fit shirt has the same measurements as the
relaxed fit shirt except the waist and bottom of the shirt are a little
smaller. Check the tables after you measure yourself to see which fit
may be right for you.
DETERMINING YOUR SHIRT SIZE
At present, all Custom Pilot Shirts are short sleeve uniform pilot
shirts designed for men. They come in both a “normal fit” and a
“tapered fit”.
Our nominal shirt sizes are simply the actual collar size of the shirt.
Please don’t just look at another pilot shirt or dress shirt and order
that size. Just because you wear a specific size “XYZ Company” shirt
doesn’t mean that’s your size in our shirts. We want to make sure your
shirts fit correctly so follow these easy instructions before you
order.
It’s up to you but in your work environment you want a comfortable
shirt. A tight-necked, tight fitting pilot shirt is simply not
comfortable for the many conditions we face. We recommend getting a
collar size that is at least 1 inch larger than your actual neck
size. A collar size of ½ inch larger than your neck size can be ordered
but will feel tight and may not be very comfortable under all conditions. You can actually wear
a shirt that has a collar size up to 1 ½ inches larger than your neck
because the tie will take up some slack and still appear normal.
The shirt’s collar size determines the rest of the shirt measurements
including the shirt’s shoulder, chest, and waist (stomach)
measurements. The collar size of our shirts are in inches and measured
from the center of the top button to the far end of its button hole.
Find your correct size by either taking a comfortable shirt and forget
what the tag says and measure it from button to hole or by measuring
your neck with a cloth measuring tape and add at least 1 inch for
comfort. This is your collar size but don’t stop there and order. Now
measure your chest and stomach at the largest point (around your belly
button) and compare the numbers in the charts. If you won’t fit into
our shirts up to 1 ½ inches (collar size) bigger than your actual neck measurement we
don’t recommend you order shirts from us.
EASY SIZE INSTRUCTIONS
(Follow these instructions before you order)
Take these 3 measurements of yourself and write them down:
Neck Size (measure where your collar lays)

Chest Size (measure just under your armpits)

Stomach Size (measure around your belly button)

Compare the table data to the collar size that is 1 inch greater than your neck size.
You can get a shirt collar size that is as small as ½ inch larger than
your neck size (may be a bit tight) or up to 1 ½ inches larger than
your neck size (may be a bit loose).

When in doubt, order the next size larger collar size not to exceed
your neck size plus 1 ½ inches.
If you are over 6 feet tall we suggest ordering on the large size.
If you are quite thin, we also suggest ordering your collar size closer to your neck size.
If you send us an email with your measurements (height, neck, chest, and stomach) we will recommend a size
for you and guarantee the fit.
